CHENOBI is an anorthosite based simulant that replaces the originally developed OB-1. While a very successful simulant, the glass component of OB-1 consisted of glass slag that was not made from the root anorthosite material.
CHENOBI has glass that has been manufactured from the root anorthosite utilizing a Plasma Arc process. Both the glass and anorthosite component are beneficiated to approximate the Particle Size Distribution found in actual lunar samples. The glass and anorthosite components are then mixed together to form the simulant.
CHENOBI is commercially available at a cost of $40,000.00 per ton. For smaller quantities, as well as multi -ton pricing, please contact Jim Richard.
